Burma was once a prosperous country with thriving agriculture, rich deposits of jade and extensive timber industries; it was known as the Golden Land. However, a cruel military junta, persecution and corruption have resulted in poverty, starvation, hunger, child prostitution and the largest number of child soldiers for any countries in the world. Isolation and persecution of Christians and the closure of churches is an everyday occurrence. 1 million people live in the forests of Burma afraid of the government forces. It is in this country that ActionOverseas are first and foremost going to work with Kids Alive UK bringing the gospel of Jesus Christ to our needy brothers and sisters, young and old.

Action Overseas in Burma
Actionoverseas is partnering with Kids Alive UK, rescuing orphan children in Burma. We are committed to building a brand new Apostolic home in order to provide 24 hour loving care for 12 orphaned children whose lives have been devastated by cyclone Nargis. Our vision is to build four homes in a children’s village to care for 48 children who need a loving home. The land is bought, the staff are being trained and the building work has commenced.
